      Tanzania from Dar es Salaam extending towards Tabora, Kigoma, Mwanza and Tanga/Moshi managed by Tanzania Railways Limited (TRL). This paper describes a reconnaissance study, using GIS techniques, to identify the areas in Tanzania likely to yield useful sites for small-scale hydropower development and thus suitable for further study by an on-the-ground survey team.
